THE FADISTS SING THE FEELINGS OF OLD TIMES.

Fado was born one day, when the wind barely stirred and the skies prolonged the sea.
On the railing of a sailing ship, in the chest of a seaman, that, being sorrowful, sang.

POPULAR EXPRESSION IN PLAYED FORM

Fado is a style of popular music, typically Portuguese. It’s a form of popular expression in a played, sung, and sometimes also danced form.

With a secular origin, immortalized in the 20th century by Fado singers internationally recognized such as Amália Rodrigues, the Portuguese Fado transports the audience that watches it, to a collective feeling that goes beyond the meaning of words and music.

Dinner with Fado is an intense journey – it is an encounter with the history and culture of our people, from all social classes, different eras and influence from various regions of Portugal.

Today, Fado is an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, protected by UNESCO.
